The Honourable Don Morgan, minister responsible for education, labour relations and workplace safety along with Health Minister Dustin Duncan joined students and staff to promote the launch of this new program.
The innovative program also helps students become more knowledgeable about their workplace rights and responsibilities. The course does an excellent job of preparing students for the job market.
The new course takes about 2-3 hours to complete, and upon completion, a printable certificate is available to the user. At Weyburn Junior High, our Career Education program’s goal is to have all Grade 9 students complete the course before the end of the school year. The designers of the online course definitely kept the target audience in mind and some of the feedback from the students indicated that they appreciated the new design:
“I could identify with the characters because they seemed realistic and not cheesy.”
